Star Wars fervor has now taken shape in its greatest form: cocktails! Purdy Lounge, the no-cover club on Miami Beach popular for live DJs spinning current reggae sounds, is taking a trip to the dark side of the bar.
Purdy’s mixologist, Thomas Merolla, has created two new cocktails from a far away galaxy to celebrate the release of the new Star Wars film on December 15. Chose from Ren’s Revenge, made with Bulleit Bourbon, or gear up for your next space mission with the BB-8 Colada, made with Banana-infused Atlantico!

REN’S REVENGE
Bulleit Bourbon, Lemon Juice, Ginger-Honey, Blackberry Puree, and a bar spoon of Fernet Branca are mixed and shaken with ice. Then, double strained over a 2”X2” ice cube in a double rocks glass, and garnished with a Lightsaber – 3 raspberries skewered and a red and white straw.
BB-8 COLADA
Banana infused Atlántico Platinum Rum, Coconut Milk, Pineapple, Simple Syrup and dashes of Tiki and Angostura Bitters are mixed, and shaken with ice. Then, strained into a Collins glass with an ice mound built from crushed ice, and garnished with long orange peel around the inside rim of the glass and around the ice mound to imitate BB-8 shape.
