Sweet Chick gets liquor license, will open in former Max Fish space

Ludlow Street just got a brand new tenant: Sweet Chick was finally approved for a liquor license and will be moving into the space formerly occupied by beloved hipster bar Max Fish.

The Brooklyn-based chicken and waffles joint failed in their first attempt to obtain a license last August, but were finally approved and will soon open up at 176-178 Ludlow Street. No word yet on a cocktail menu but we’re hoping for the Tiger Woods Y’all, with honey whiskey, cognac and lemon in an Arnold Palmer and served on tap at the Williamsburg outpost.

Meanwhile, many neighbors are against Sweet Chick opening, due to the positioning of an exhaust pipe which creates ventilation issues and a fire hazard.

Maybe they plan to make nice by offering a free beer to anyone who orders a sandwich or chicken and waffles, like at the Bedford Avenue location. We can only hope…
