Looking for some luxury this Cinco de Mayo? Skip the sombreros and tequila shots and head to DÔA Miami Beach, where mixologist Josue Gonzalez is serving up a $750 over-the-top margarita.
The Royal Gold Margarita at DÔA features premium Allaire Collection Privee Tequila mixed with Grand Marnier Cuvee du Centenaire, served in a Waterford crystal glass and garnished with a 24K gold-encrusted lime wedge (yes, seriously). You can sip one for $750, get a pair for $1000 or $2500 for tableside service.
And while the cocktail is admittedly delicious, it’s the presentation – anyone who orders a Royal Gold Margarita on Cinco de Mayo gets to take home the crystal glasses, 24K Thai Elephant gold leaf for the lime, a silver plated platter, gold plated mixing spoons and gold plated straws – that really takes things up a notch.
Take that, mariachi bands and Mexican beer specials – this is what Cinco De Mayo opulence looks like.
