Don’t look for polite conservation or restrained manners at Villa Azur’s Thursday night dinner parties. As soon as dinner guests enter this ultra-French hotspot’s glamorous lounge and bar area they are plunged into its party atmosphere revved up by DJ Stephen M. The entire evening is a celebration filled with music, including live performers, as well as flowing wine and champagne parades.
South Beach’s Villa Azur hosts this vivacious weekly event to dazzle diners with Executive Chef Philippe Ruiz’ menu, such as starter Salmon Brioche (pictured, below), and its extensive wine list.
In fact, at Villa Azur, they pronounce ‘wine with dinner’ as winner. At our dining experience, we enjoyed two new pasta dishes paired with wine as suggested by sommelier Diego Rech.
Wine With Dinner at Villa Azur Miami
For the decadent Lobster Spaghetti –half a Maine lobster tossed in lobster bisque and roasted asparagus, a bottle of Vouvray Chenin Blanc Cuvee de Silex Domaine de Aubuisieres 2016 ($72), or a glass of Chablis Seguinot Bordet – a pale golden wine that is fruity to the nose with a lemony and slightly mineral taste, were suggested.
For the scrumptious Ravioles de Romans – pillows of pasta filled with Comte cheese in a rich and velvety truffle sauce, a bottle of Beaujolais Cru Moulin-A-Vent Chateau du Chatelard 2015 ($75), or a glass of Dupasquier Bourgogne Rouge– a light-bodied and perfumey pinot noir with a fruity and slight oaky taste, were suggested.
