It seems around every corner, we are seeing more and more “healthy” ingredients creeping into drinks culture. Although we are fully aware that cocktails and booze can never exactly be healthy, we do like seeing some of our favorite ingredients successfully incorporated into cocktails.

We have a bit of an obsession with Turmeric which is proven to have anti-inflammatory properties and is a strong anti-oxidant. Many cafés are serving up Golden Turmeric Lattes, which we truly love, and more and more, we are seeing this beautiful yellow spice on cocktail menus. Proving that the Turmeric trend is certainly worldwide, Soneva Resorts in Thailand and the Maldives is serving up this spirits on spirit cocktail. A mixture of turmeric-infused vodka, bourbon, orange juice, sour mix and basil, the Smoky Bourbon is then smoked with double applewood using a smoke gun and covered with a lid before serving.
