Washington Heights’ Taszo Espresso Bar Now Serving Beer and Wine

Washington Heights coffee shop Taszo Espresso Bar just got a whole lot more fun now that they are serving alcohol, too.

The java joint, on Edward Morgan Place, is  now offering customers their choice of wines for $7 a glass, as well as a wide selection of beers including local brew Sugar Hill, for $5 each.

Owned by Haitem Weslati and Simone Gastaldi, Taszo plans to install a brand new wine bar and a larger food menu (think cheese and pizza blanco) as soon as next week, just as South Korean coffee chain Caffe Bené prepares to open an outpost next door and threatens to take some business away from Taszo.
