Toast to World Reef Day with the potent and tasty COBA, made with Gem & Bolt Mezcal, Chareau Aloe Vera, Hibiscus, Lime and Watermelon Agua Fresca. This Tajin-rimmed cocktail is served at 1 Hotel South Beach’s palm-shaded oasis, the 1 Beach Club on Miami Beach, which is honoring this day of worldwide ocean conservation with an event on the first evening of June.
The inaugural World Reef Day was initiated in 2019 with a goal of engaging a global audience to save coral reefs from extinction through awareness, education and activation. For their World Reef Day event, the 1 Beach Club at 1 Hotel South Beach has partnered with Raw Elements Certified Natural Sunscreen and The Reefline.
Located off Miami Beach’s shoreline, The Reefline is a 7-mile-long, underwater sculpture park and snorkel trail. As an artificial reef, The Reefline will bolster the shoreline against the effects of climate change and include art installations that can only be viewed while snorkeling.
The event, open to the public, kicks off with a sunset intentional handpan sound experience provided by Yogi Shelly. Guests will also enjoy the complimentary Mezcal-based cocktail, or a zero alcohol Kombucha canned cocktail from Radiate, made with organic tea and organic locally sourced vegan cane sugar, in flavors such as Pina Caliente or Mermaid Majik, (Kombucha, Organic Fresh Ginger, Blue Majik and Algae).
