It is officially Fleet Week in New York City! Kicking off on May 24th with the Parade of Ships in the Hudson River, men and women in uniform are found all around town and many (over 21) are thirsty to take in the city.
Here are some spots offering drink specials during Fleet Week, but we highly suggest that if you see someone in uniform at a bar, BUY THEM A DRINK!
Leave Rochelle Out of It (Rochelle’s)
Looking for a serious party? Rochelle’s Creative Director, Brett David, says that drinks are on him for the fine folks in uniform, with valid 21+ I.D. of course. Starting May 24th through Memorial Day, David promises that the Rochelle’s staff will, “say thank you to the real heroes before they have a chance to say it to us.” This LES joint has a serious whiskey program, so we suggest some of their fine American Whiskey marks. 205 Chrystie St.
MEGU
Walk into MEGU in uniform or with a military ID and your first drink is on the house throughout the week! Enjoy exciting pours such as the Japanese-inspired Buddha’s Delight with Tequila, blackberries and jalapeños, or the MEGU Old Fashioned with Bourbon and orange bitters. Plus, the restaurant’s enticing and sultry atmosphere is the perfect place for civilians and service people to mingle!

If you are in the Gramercy area, go to The Royal Munkey for $10 Army & Navy cocktails all Fleet Week long. Enjoy live music and a festive transportative atmosphere at this Indian restaurant and bar. 438 Second Avenue

This bar is part of New York Distilling and is offering the first drink for Free for all men and women in uniform and all Perry’s Tot Cocktails for $6 on Monday.
