Monarch Rooftop Midtown

If you are looking for a happy hour spot in Midtown to take advantage of your summer Fridays then pop into the Monarch Rooftop on 35th. This is a rooftop that you might have missed because they share they share the building with a Marriott Courtyard Herald Square. The Monarch Rooftop has both indoor and outdoor space with views of the Empire State Building and Midtown Manhattan and is one of the more spacious rooftop bars that I have been to in Manhattan.

They recently started serving lunch, opening up at noon and then stay open for the day. If you actually take advantage of your summer Fridays then head up to the rooftop for lunch and then camp out into the night. They do have a TV or two and while this is not a sports bar, you can definitely catch a game or two. One of the best parts about the Monarch is that they have two bars one inside and one on the patio so unless the venue is at capacity you shouldn’t really have to wait too long for a cocktail.

What to Drink at Monarch Rooftop

Everyone knows that rosé is the drink of Summer and while they have one rosé that you can drink they also have carafes of Sangria and the Peach Palmer that we recommend. You will find the cocktails that we tried when we were there last week.
