It may be the dead of summer, but Winter is coming. This Sunday July 16th is the season 7 premiere of Game of Thrones and Miami’s Purdy Lounge is serving a very special cocktail for the occasion: the Mother of Dragons, with tequila, lime, yellow chartreuse, pineapple and bitters.
All weekend long, fans can sip this concoction, which takes inspiration from the classic margarita – with a tropical spin.
“Yellow Chartreuse adds a zing to blanco tequila, while citrus and pineapple help round out the balance,” explains Thomas Merolla, head mixologist at Purdy Lounge. “Peychauds bitters add an aromatic nose, just enough to entice without overwhelming the senses.”
Mother of Dragons recipe and preparation
- 1 oz Altos Blanco
- .5 oz yellow chartreuse
- .5 oz lime juice
- .5 oz pineapple juice
- .5 oz agave
- Peychaud bitters
- 2 pineapple leaves
- 2 Amarino cherries
Build and churn. Served in a Collins glass with ice cap and Peychaud bitters on mound. Garnish with 2 pineapple leaves and 2 amarino cherries.
