Starbucks to soon sell beer, wine, bacon-wrapped dates

Craving a nice Malbec and truffle mac and cheese? Care for a Chardonnay and some chocolate fondue?

Then head to Starbucks!

In it’s next move for total world – food and beverage world, at least – domination, Starbucks has announced that they will soon be bringing alcohol and tapas-like bites to thousands of stores in the near future.

The program, called “Starbucks Evenings,” has been testing in select markets since 2010 (the after-dark offerings are available around Chicago, Atlanta and Seattle and at LAX and Washington Dulles airports), and now the program is ready to go wide, Chief Operating Officer Troy Alstead told Bloomberg. “We’ve tested it long enough in enough markets — this is a program that works,” he said.

As of now, only 40 of the Starbucks stores in the US offer the Starbucks Evenings menu, but over  the next few years, it will be growing to large cities – which will likely soon include NYC.
