A Cheat Sheet: What To Drink at This Year’s Mad. Sq. Eats

Last week, Mad. Sq. Eats returned to Madison Square Park with HUGE crowds. And by huge, we mean massive.

It is no secret that New Yorkers live for a good outdoor food and drink community gathering, and Mad. Sq. Eats – which runs daily from 11 am until 9 pm through May 30th – is arguably one of the most anticipated on the culinary calendar.

Located in a compact area – about two city blocks, from 25th to 27th Streets between 5th Ave and Broadway –  Mad. Sq. Eats gets really crowded, especially around peak lunch hour!  So go with a gameplan and be prepared: vendors curate their offerings based on the best of the best and when a drink or food item is done for the day…well, better luck next time.

Of course, there is incredible food but this is one of the few outdoor festivals that allow imbibing as well which got us Thirsty. Thanks to contributor Stefany for giving us her lost of must-try drink options at Mad. Sq. Eats.

Here are some highlights:

  • Craft beers at Nunu Chocolates (selection changes as kegs are kicked), also offer wine pairings
  • Soju cocktails at Asiadog
  • Fresh pressed juice bar at Bar Suzette
  • Draft kombucha at Two Tablespoons
  • Margaritas (original, mango, passion fruit) and Tecates (naked or fully dressed) at Mexicue
  • Hong Kong Street Cart suggested pairing the Summer Pale Ale with their Rice Noodle with Lemongrass Chicken
  • Lebanese beer offerings from ilili

Sidenote: Don’t miss the selections at Arancini Bros. – loved those damn balls!
