Learn How To Be a Barista 

On Wednesday, March 23, Irving Farm Coffee Roasters is offering a “Barista Fundamentals” class, from 9 a.m. til 1 p.m. The class will teach budding baristas how to make espresso and espresso-based beverages as well as techniques like preparing the drinks, steaming milk, pouring latte art, and cleaning machines in the Training Loft. Hot Sauce and Cocktails

Heatonist teams up with private chef duo bigLittle for a hot sauce-tasting series. The event will feature five courses paired around hot sauce selections, small bites and a Kings County Distillery cocktail. Tickets are $75, available here.

Hog and Hops

Jimmy’s No. 43 is closing out their #LiquidLent with a “Last Supper” dinner on Thursday, March 24, featuring a whole roast Lechon pig from Tito King’s Kitchen paired with a selection of Belgian beers from Artisanal Imports. Brews include: Trappe Witte, Wals Belo Sao Francisco, B.O.M. Full Moon and more. Tickets are $55, available here.

Absinthe Tasting, Anyone?

Many of us think that absinthe is just a spirit that will make us hallucinate, right? This absinthe tasting at Clement will help drinkers learn the real deal about the “green fairy” led by Jared Fischer (Clement’s director of wine and spirits) and Ted Breaux (founder of Jade Absinthe). The event will feature a welcome cocktail and three different absinthe tastes, plus small bites. Tickets are $65, and reservations can be made by contacting clementpny@peninsula.com.

Easter Drinking

This Sunday, Measure Lounge at Langham Place is hosting a special Easter-themed brunch, complete with a pastry buffet with chocolate Easter eggs, hot cross buns, a decorate your own cookie station, and lots of booze. The boozy Easter brunch offerings including  bottled cocktails from the newly launched brunch menu, including a Sloe Gin Fiz, Cold Brew Negroni, Langham Rosé Sangria, and a Rhubarb Aperol Spritz made with seasonal fruits and spices.

Looking for something different this Easter Sunday, then we suggest the Crawfish Boil at Lionsbeerstore. Get your fill of all-you-can-eat food by Chef Joshua Bedford from 3PM – 7PM and toast with Veltins Pilsner and Weihenstephan Weissbier in 64oz Growlers in a special price of $25.00. Now Open

Birch Coffee has opened its latest location in the Gehry building in downtown Manhattan. On Tuesday, March 22, the newest java outpost will be giving away complimentary coffee between 7 and 11 a.m. This location will feature a Sanremo Opera espresso machine with coffee sources from the best farms around the world.
