Decoy Cocktail Lounge Launches Below RedFarm in West Village

As if the RedFarm team doesn’t have enough going on, they have now launched Decoy – a Peking duck and cocktail concept in the space that opened last night below the Hudson Street location of the beloved Chinese favorite. Ed Schoenfeld and Joe Ng – who opened an Upper West Side location earlier this year – recently took over the former laundromat space below the restaurant and were using it for regular dinner service, to accommodate the masses that continue to come for the delicious dumplings, BBQ’d Pork Belly and Three Chili Chicken.

Now, they are making space for the crowds who flood the West Village but offering this new cocktail lounge featuring bar snacks and inventive cocktails, including a Yuzu Caipirinha and a soon-to-be popular Manhattan made with duck fat-washed whiskey. What??

The full dinner menu will be served until 9pm but once the dinner crowd peters out; around 9:30pm, tipplers will be offered the bar snacks menu – shrimp-stuffed jalapeno poppers, a Sea Bass and Avocado Tart and the insanely yummy Katz’s Pastrami Egg Roll – along with a specially crafted Decoy cocktail list.

Just like it’s big brother upstairs, the place is sure to be packed once word gets out. So go soon, and ask the bartender to create a bespoke cocktail before they start to get too busy to get creative.
