Drink This Now: Cosmopolitan By Toby Cecchini For Cointreau Cosmo Week

The Cosmopolitan is one of the most influential modern classic cocktails with its bright pink hue and pop culture ties to Sex & The City; there is not denying it truly iconic. Like most cocktails, there are debates on the folklore and exact origins of the recipe. However, many credit the Cosmopolitan as we know it today to Toby Cecchini from his days at The Odeon in New York City in the late 1980’s.

To celebrate this legendary cocktail,  Cointreau has announced Cosmo Week from October 5 – 9, 2020.  Cosmo Week will offer exciting virtual events including masterclasses, trainings, and events featuring guest speakers such as Alfred Cointreau, Toby Cecchini, Master Distiller Carole Quinton, and Global Brand Ambassador Kevin Sueiro. And in this age of unprecedented times, the Cosmopolitan is the perfect cocktail to deliver a pop of color and humor to brighten our spirits.

Emily Arseneau, Director of Collectif 1806, has been a huge advocate the Cosmo reclaiming its spotlight and shares,  “I never get tired of hearing how Toby as a baby bartender, stumbled onto one of the most iconic sours in history. He is absolutely hysterical and the Cosmo is nearly as dry as his sense of humor, but sign up and see for yourself during Cosmo Week.”
