Get ready to back the rack! Speed Rack is back in NYC on Sunday, December 11th, showcasing the very best female bartenders going head to head in an epic speed bartending competition. Speed Rack is not only incredible entertainment and a chance to see some of the very best ladies in the bar business show their stuff, it is all for a great cause.
Created by industry luminaries, Ivy Mix and Lynnette Marrero, 100% of the proceeds go to breast cancer charities.To date, Speed Rack has raised more than $500,000 for breast cancer charities in the U.S. and around the globe.
Twenty-three fierce competitors will face off in timed heats to make rounds of cocktails, culled from a list of 50 accepted industry-standard classic recipes, in front of a panel of judges and a crowd of excited viewers. Judges rate each drink based on prep time and accuracy.
The judging panel at Speed Rack New York will feature celebrated writers and cocktail-world luminaries such as: Dale DeGroff (aka King Cocktail and author of The Craft of the Cocktail and The Essential Cocktail: bitters, books, and recipes), Julie Reiner (owner of Flatiron Lounge, Clover Club and co-owner Leyenda), Jordana Rothman (restaurant editor, Food & Wine), and Dave Wondrich (world-renowned cocktail historian and The Daily Beast drinks columnist).
The grand prize will be announced at the National Finals on May 21, 2017 in New York.
