Jello shots at Meatball Shop, coffee and chocolate-infused beers

Jello shots at The Meatball Shop

This weekend, The Meatball Shop started serving their brand-new menu of $2 Jello shots, on weekends after midnight. The specials will change nightly, and the initial flavors included a Kamikaze at the Williamsburg location, while West Village served a Manhattan jello shot. [Grub Street]

Coffee and chocolate-infused beers

Irving Farm and Peak Organic Brewing Company have teamed up for the release of Espresso Amber Ale, a brew that blends malty sweetness with orange zest acidity. The ale will be available at the 88 Orchard Street location on March 7th from 6 to 10 p.m., with limited supplies.

Meanwhile, in other infused brew news, Jonas Bronck’s Beery Company has released New York Chocolate Egg Cream Stout, using Fox’s U-Bet chocolate syrup to make a stout created by culinary brewer Ken Hettinger and Jonas Bronck‘s founder Steve Nallen. The flavor is reminiscent of the egg creams served in NYC soda fountains and candy stores in the early 20th century and this new brew – which debuted last week during NYC Craft Beer Week and is expected to be on menus across the five boroughs by April –  pays homage to that era.
