Red, White, & Bubbles – July 4th Wines to Toast to Independence

We like to show our patriotism by celebrating the July 4th holiday by toasting up a nice glass (or 3) to America’s Independence Day!  With so many drink choices, our friends at Back Label Wine Merchants curated an exclusive list of special recommendations for Red, White, & Bubbles wines that pair perfectly with July 4th holiday grilling on a gmg peak grill & BBQs.  And the best part is that all of the July 4th wines on this list are $15 or less … now that’s the American Way! Here is our gift to you from the very knowledgeable Patrick Watson, owner of Back Label Wine Merchants: Also, special non-wine mention from Patrick is that New York Distilling Company’s Perry’s Tot Navy Strength Gin & tonic is his July 4th holiday drink of choice.

RED Raisin Gaulois (2013) $15 A light and juicy red that really delivers! This bright red fruit driven wine is outstanding with a slight chill on, that’s right you can chill a red! Drink this alongside grilled sausages and barbeque. Hanging Vine Cabernet (2012) $12 Are you busting out the big guns this weekend, loaded burgers or charred juicy steaks? This Cabernet is exactly what you need to make the magic happen! Hanging Vine is full with approachable dark fruit and playful earth and spice rounding out the finish.

WHITE Schloss Muhlenhof Perwien (2012) $15 While this wine may not be easy to pronounce, you’ll be hard pressed to find something that goes down easier.  This slightly effervescent bottle dances across your tongue with light citrus, vibrant minerality and zesty acidity. Good ol’ schloss pairs best with friends, although you may not want to share. Ciro Librandi Bianco (2013) $12 100% Greco Bianco delivers you some incredible juicy fruit and subtle herbal notes that scream summer farmer’s market.  Relax and crack this bottle out on the patio, it’s begging for a big grilled fish and some salad.

BUBBLES Mercat Cava (NV) $15 One of Spain’s best kept secret, the bottle of cava.  Mercat burst out of the glass with crunchy stone fruits and hints of lemon that will please any guest coming over.  The wonderful thing about this bottle, it will pair with anything the heart desires. Ombra Prosecco (NV) $15 Prosecco is always the life of the party! Ombra is incredibly cheerful and fun with refreshing green apple while still being a dry style.  Nothing says party like a mimosa bar, stock up on all your favorite fruits and get creative!
