Taking over one of International Smoke’s cozy, pillow-clad banquettes for your brunch party is an excellent way to celebrate the weekend. The New American-style restaurant is the wildly popular collaboration between Chef Michael Mina and celebrity entrepreneur, television host, and New York Times best-selling author Ayesha Curry. In the Miami area, International Smoke is located north of the Magic City, in Aventura, at the new outdoor plaza of Miami-Dade’s popular Aventura Mall.
Especially now, during South Florida’s current chilly winter weather, the industrial-chic eatery’s woodfire-grilled seafood, ribs, and vegetarian entrees, paired with their tasty, shareable cocktails, will keep everyone warm, both in temperature and temperament.
Whether or not you have consensus on which large-format cocktail to share, we recommend kicking off brunch with the smokin’ hot and spirit-forward Pear Of Thieves cocktail with Rittenhouse Rye, Spiced Pear, Maple Syrup and Lemon; garnished with a Marshmellow, which is torched tableside.
For the table, we suggest, fresh from the wood-burning oven, moist and slightly sweet, but totally yummy, Ayesha’s Fresh Baked Cornbread (2 per order) with spicy Thai red curry butter, that is best served on the side. Another starter-must, Wood Roasted Shellfish Platter (oysters, shrimp, lobster, crab), complete with a tableside smoke show. If you are the sole seafood eater, do order a half or whole Wood Roasted Maine Lobster -not to share.
The brunch entrees are enticing, but, do not miss out on the delectable Smoked St. Louis-cut Pork Ribs. The chefs collaborated with Le Sanctuaire to create distinct spice rubs to complement their own signature international sauces: American Barbecue , Korean Sesame-Gochujang, and their newest and scrumptious Vietnamese marinated ribs. Rib entrees can be ordered half or whole rank as well as combo rack of all three; and are accompanied by barbecued sweet potatoes and housemade coleslaw.

For a sweet finish, there is a great dessert selection, including hot, baked chocolate chip cookies and milk, but we suggest the boozeless Affogato -made with a shot of espresso poured tableside over vanilla soft serve, from the brunch cocktail menu.
