The Garret now serving booze, burgers above Five Guys

Bleecker Heights Tavern – the “secret bar” above Five Guys burgers in the West Village closed earlier this year, and now it has reopened as The Garret, an upscale cocktail lounge by Hotel Chantelle owner Kyle O’Brien, Gavin Moseley and others (a Kickstarter page shows that the team raised over $25K on the fundraising site).

The new bar, described on the website as a “refined drinking establishment,” features 14 beers on tap plus a creative cocktail menu including  the Rosarito Stick-Up with El Tesoro tequila, Grand Marnier, rosemary, thyme, sage syrup and egg white and their signature drink, the Two Lime Crew, a simple vodka and soda with two limes.

The Garret

The decor is eclectic – one door has endless handles – and a hand-painted printed taxidermy rhinoceros head. Hungry guests will even be able to order Five Guys burgers right to their bar stool or table.
