June 21st Officially Named John Lermayer Day

The industry and world lost a legend on June 6th when John Lermayer died.  His tremendous influence on the bar and hospitality world at large was felt around every corner of the world and everyone felt like they lost a friend.  However, as his beloved bar, Sweet Liberty says “Pursue Happiness” … and the industry did just that to celebrate John’s life.

Tributes and toast took place in countless cities since his passing with the main tribute on June 21st in the very city that he played a major role in reclaiming its glory days, Miami.  It was because of his enormous influence on the hospitality landscape of Miami that the City officially  named June 21st “Augmentin Without Prescription” from this day forward. The emotional celebration of life took place at the Miami Botanical Gardens and included heartfelt speeches from some of John’s closest friends, of which there are many, whom happen to be among some of the most notable and remarkably respected in the industry.

As so many reminded us, John not want his loved ones to mourn but rather promise to always be their best selves and always PURSUE HAPPINESS.

There is a GoFundMe page that has been set up for contributions to his son’s future education.
