Living a well balanced life can be a challenge across the board, especially for busy New Yorkers. So the folks at New York Health & Racquet Club have created an entire summer long season of programming to help make fitness more fun by building a community and offering a lot of fun activities for its members. Ranging from private yacht outings to rooftop brunches to upstate yoga retreats, NYHRC has your summer season sorted to encourage you to get fit, make new friends and have a ton of fun!

As NYHRC is a totally New York-centric gym, it understands that the warm weather season in the city can be especially brutal.  NYC basically becomes a concrete brick oven, and don’t even get us started on scorching subway stations.  So NYHRC is offering its members unique experiences to get outdoors and be about that summertime gladness. And since most of us join a gym anyhow, might as well take advantage of a membership provides some pretty lavish perks. A super cool bonus is that some of these activities are totally free.  An awesome sidebar is that nearly all of the NYHRC locations have pools to take a dip and beat the heat, ummm yes!  Score your complimentary VIP guest pass HERE and check out some of their Summer offerings:

Yacht Rocking

New York Health and Racquet Club is part of Manhattan’s DNA. It provides a lifestyle for its members that includes unheard-of access to outdoor activities and events that will make even your wealthiest friends envious. What other gym lets you ride around Manhattan on a yacht? Most only provide a stationary bike to ride. It’s the only gym membership that offers weekly sails along the East River that you can bring your friends on. Imagine ending a long week with a morning workout and a sunset cruise with Lower Manhattan views. Nice.

Downward Dog Upstate

If you still want to get away, NYHRC makes that possible with a July weekend yoga retreat at the Hilton Westchester with exclusive rates. It’s conveniently located near the Rye Metro North station, so you can get there in about 40 minutes. Grab your significant other, your close friends, or ride solo and get ready for sunrise meditation and sunset vinyasa away from the concrete jungle. Your stay includes meals, so you can order antabuse online, not searching for restaurants.

Freebie Fitness Outdoors

New York Health and Racquet Club hasn’t forgotten about non-members. It’ll be hosting public outdoor yoga and fitness classes all summer long, so you can get a taste of the NYHRC lifestyle. It will offer a variety of free group fitness classes, ranging from Dance to Sunset Yoga, in Union Square on Thursday evenings beginning June 14th. On July 18th and August 1st, the club will hold outdoor fitness classes at the Flatiron Public Plazas taught by their top Zumba and yoga instructors, so you can try before you buy.

On Top of the World Brunching

For those who would rather spend less time retreating and more time eating, NYHRC may be a gym, but it’s got the brunch hookup. And not just any brunch — a rooftop brunch with exclusive member pricing. Upstairs at The Kimberly Hotel on East 50th Street, you’ll be greeted by sweeping Midtown views from 30 stories up. Feast on huevos rancheros and lemon ricotta pancakes post-workout, and sip on signature cocktails, like The Chrysler, while looking at, well, the Chrysler Building. So meta. And if you brunch a little too hard, The Kimberly also offers special rates for members, so you’ll have a place to crash without having to navigate the subway.

Training Squad Goals

If a summer of action is more your thing, the club also offers a variety of training courses to help you achieve your fitness goals and keep that summer body year ‘round. The 16-week NYC Marathon group training begins on July 15th and includes race day perks like breakfast, a pre-race coaching session and an after-race get-together for like-minded jubilation — and carbs. If 26.2 miles in a single day sounds like a lot to you, which is quite understandable, NYHRC also offers summer Ragnar Trail Relay and Spartan Race training for energetic summer challenges that are a little shorter.

For more information to get in on the fit fun, check out NYHRC’s website and schedule a visit to the club nearest you with your free guest pass. Also, heads up that for a limited time, you can score 20% off an annual membership if you pay in full.
