Transportation and Travel-Inspired Cocktails at The Grey in Savannah

As if there weren’t already enough reasons to put Savannah on your must-visit list, here’s another one to add: the newly added summer cocktails at Diner Bar at The Grey. Recently named one of Esquire‘s Best Bars of 2018, the drinks at Diner Bar have been refreshed, with some interesting and unique inspiration.

“Everything on our beverage menu ties into a spirit of transportation, travel, or trade, being that we are located in a former Greyhound bus terminal,” explains  Kaleb Craft, Wine & Beverage Director at The Grey. “For this summer, we chose classic cocktails inspired by island destinations, and based our house list on how you get to those places.”

Some of the cheekily named selections include the Curaçao Punch, with dry curaçao, cognac, rum and lemon; the Window Seat, made with infused tequila, Aperol, Cointreau, lime and egg white; and the S26 to El Dorado, with bourbon, Drambuie, Benedictine, Amaro and Aguardiente.

Time To Get Goin

The Time to Get Goin blends tequila, Cachaça, honey and ginger, which The Grey team describes as: “if a margarita washed the salt from its hair and married a caipirinha that cleaned up its act, their child might grow up to look a little something like this.”

“As a set,” Craft continues. “they pay tribute to a quintessential summer vacation, or what we called ‘getting there.’  All of the cocktails are inspired by our team’s nostalgia for childhood summer vacations and perfect for the Savannah heat.”
